nightmare proposal

The other night I had a horrible dream about Scott proposing.
I can't remember how exactly he propsed but I do remember the disgusting ring that I got. It was just awful. A massive white gold ring with way too many stones.... and a thick band that just drowned my poor little finger. I woke up feeling quite distressed. Actually.... even now after a few days I still feel distressed. All I could think of when I saw the ring was "can you take it back" and "gosh I hope no one knows I'm engagaed now cause then I won't have to show them this nightmare of a ring!".

melissa & nathan's wedding

Melissa and Nathan's Wedding was just magical. We were all a little worried it would rain ( it had been raining all week).... but on the day - the skies were blue, not a single cloud in sight - magical. It was a fun day, and I got to wear two different dresses (the wedding was local so I went home after the ceremony and got changed).

Unfortunatley I didn't catch the bouquet. But I promise to try harder next time.

my friend mel, the hen

Last night was Mels Hens Night... and it was certainly an awsome night. We started off with dinner at Baia in Sydney then danced the night away at Retro, Sussex St. Dinner was awsome, it was a buffet style where there were several different dishes on the tables and we all had a bit of everything. The lovely bridesmaids put together showbags for all the guests - which consisted of all sorts of fun things, such as novelty glasses and penis straws. Appart from the crappy weather, the night was great - filled with yummy food, lots of laughter, dancing, drinking and having fun.

scott's 24th

I wanted to take Scott somewhere different for his birthday this year. Somewhere local, where we can have a bit of fun. I ended up picking him up from work at about 3pm and then taking him to this beautiful gold course only 10 mins from home. It was the perfect time to play golf - late afternoon just as the sun was starting to set. And because we went on a tuesday - we had the whole course to ourselves!

We ended the evening with a game of bowling and a fabulous pizza at a local bowling alley. Scott won - as per usual.

switzerland

In Switzerland we visited Lucerne. It was a beautiful city, filled with cheese fondue, yodeling, clocks and swiss knives.

This photo was taken on our first night out in Lucerne, we are enjoying an entree of yummy cheese fondu.

We also climbed up to the very top of Mt Pilatus. It was a magnificent view, we were on top of the clouds. Perhaps our choice of clothing (t-shirts) was not as appropriate for the freezing cold weather.

And how could we visit Lucerne without stopping to marvel at the Lion Monument. The monument commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris, France.

italy

My first memory of Italy was when we stopped at one of those service stops, and ordered one slice of Pizza each, to have for lunch. This is what we got:

St Marks Square, in Venice, was just divine. We loved the atmosphere. Music playing, couples in love, gondolas floating past. Two nights in Venice was just not enough.

And natuarally, we also went for a gondola ride around beautiful Venice, at just the right time mind you - as the sun was setting.

I didn't really intend on buying a Venitian mask.... but seriously when you see them (and you will because they are just everywhere), its quite hard NOT to buy one. We love ours - and wore them all night, on our last night in Venice.

The next day we headed for beautiful Rome. Scott managed to walk all the way up the bazillion stairs to the top of St Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican City. I wasen't so keen on climbing all those steps to get there, but I sure am glad Scott got to see that magnificant view. wow.

We stopped in Siena for several hours on our way to Florence and Scott managed to find the biggest ever ice-cream. It was massive in a way you just dont understand. He ended up having seven (yes seven!) different flavours in his super-massive ice-cream cone, and ate it in record time. Well done babe.

I loved dinner in Florence. Our tour guide took us to a beautiful little restaurant... hidden away from all the busy crowds. There was a live band there too.... and the steak we ordered... well it was massive.

Last stop : Pisa.
We couldn't help but take cheesy photos of ourselves holding up the leaning tour.

amsterdam

Ah.. yes. Amsterdam. This was our first stop on our European Tour with Trafalgar. I loved Amsterdam. I loved the fact that there were more push bikes zooming around than there were people and cars. Scott & I couldn't resist hiring out a couple of push bikes and having a peddle around this beautiful city ourselves.
