divas new jacket

A while back I bought this super cute dog jacket for my dog. Its got her name "diva" written on the back in silver. It was reduced down to $2 - bargain! So I tired it on her - perfect fit, now I am going to wrap it up for her for Christmas. Yes I know its a bit silly to wrap up a pressent for Christmas for your pet, but it just looks nice to have more pressies under the tree.

new dresses

Scott & I went shopping the other week and I came home with a few new dresses. Im totally into the 'nautical' clothing at the moment, so when I saw the dress below at Cotton On - I just couldn't resist. The top half is a stretchy t-shirt fabric with ruffle and a zipper down the bust. There is also a thick black elastic waist band. Skirt section is a lightweight denim.

This dress is also from Cotton On. I wore this one on Sunday when we all went out for yum-cha to celebrate my friends birthday. Its my favourite one from the three dresses. Its a dark blue in colour with a cute little bird print all over. Elastic around the waist, and ruffle around the top. I love ruffles.

The last dress I bought is from Country Road. Its made from silk so its feels so soft. Its a little hard to explain the detail it has but there is some fabric across the bust that is folded over and over again that continues and gets larger as it goes across. I've decided that this is the dress I will be wearing to this years Christmas party!

cupcakes

On the way home from yum-cha on Sunday, Nicole took us to this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G cupcake shop. The cupcakes on display looked delicious. I had the choc-choc cupcake, Scott had the choc-chip, and Nicole had the red-velvet. Nom nom nom.

yum cha

Our lovely friend, Mel, turned 25 last Sunday so we went out for some yum-cha to celebrate! Im not the biggest fan of "foreign foods". I'm more of a meat-pie or fish and chips kinda girl, but I quite enjoyed yum-cha. Most of the dishes looked like... well.... alien eggs? Or something like that, but they tasted pretty good!

Lucky Nicole did some shoe shopping before lunch!

Love this photo of us!

Ok ok... I know it's a bit early to have our tree up already, but it's our first Christmas as a married couple, so we got a bit excited!

a day in sydney

Yesterday, I went into the city with mum and dad. I wore my big floppy hat from David Jones, brown sunnies from SES , and a floral maxi dress which was thrifted. We had lunch at Subway and then headed into the new Westfields on Pitt St to check it out. It was pretty massive - 7 levels alltogether! We stopped in Myer for a while, it was beautiful with all the Christmas decorations around.

We stopped at the hats and tried on a few different ones. I love summer hats.

Then we saw the price and though we'd best put them back! We almost certainly can't even affort to try them on. The hat I've got on above cost just under $200. What??

There were some lovely Christmas displays all around Myer on the outside, so we wandered around, checking them all out before heading back home. And it was just gorgeous weather too - welcome summer!

pillows

I think we have officially become "pillow people". Who knew having too many pillows on ones bed could be so fun? So what do you think guys? I quite like it, I think with the right combination of colours and textures - having a collection of pillows and cushions on a bed can look quite nice.

I thought I would show you our "Mr & Mrs" plaques too. I bought them for props to use on our wedding day, and now they sit on our bed side tables.

the groom

I'd like to formaly introduce you to my darling husband, Scott. Here are a couple of pics, taken on the morning of our wedding at my in-laws home with his twin brother, and best man, Chris. Scott is truly an amazing man, and I am thankful everyday for ever having met him. He has the kindest heart, the most beautiful smile and the cutest laugh. He is my world, my life, my love.

the bride

The bride aka myself. Here are a few shots from the morning of our wedding, at my parents house. I got married on the 21st of August 2010, I was 24 years old. Scott and I had been engaged for just short of eight months, although we had been dating since April of 2004.

the wedding dress

We recently received all our wedding photos back from our lovely photographers, Evan & Julliette (CreatePhotography)... so over the next few posts I'd like to share with you, the most wonderful day of my life, my wedding day.

Initially I wanted to have a strapless wedding dress, but after a few chats with Scott and a few friends I decided to go with straps. I didn't want to be pulling my dress up the whole day and wanted something a little bit different. Almost 100% of the wedding dresses around at the moment are strapless so I thought the straps would add a nice & different touch.

It was bought from the Bridal Factory at Wetheril Park (which I have recently heard has closed down!), for $2020. I went with mum in January and tried on a few different styles, and then we picked and choose different things from each of the dresses I had tried on to come up with a design I was happy with. The bust area was fitted with a big satin bow on the side of the waist. Then from the waist down there are layers of lace with crystal detailing. There was also crystal detailing around the sweetheart bustline and on the strap edges. I loved it to pieces - its totally me 100%.

factory theatre

Last Saturday night we rounded up a group of friends and headed over to The Factory Theatre to support a friend of Scotts from high school who was in a band - The Written Crusade. It was pretty cool actually, there were eight different bands altogether and they each played for about 25 mins, then the crowd got to vote if they liked the band by raising their hands in the air.... the votes were counted and at the end of the night the winning bands got to perform... somewhere.

The third band was pretty scary. They were a group of emo asian guys who pretty much just screamed into the mic. There was a heap of young kids at the front who would break-out in this weirdo dance (looked more like they were having a fit) .... pictured below.

One of the female vocalists from The Written Crusade.

The band below are called The Stone Monks and I liked them the best. I voted with two hands after they had finished, but we didn't end up staying the whole night to see who won.
