sunday lunch

We are going to the airport in less than two hours so this is going to be a super-short post. I've been so busy packing and organising work for my relacement that I havent had the opportunity for any outfit photos - but I did take some video of my cat over the weekend.... enjoy!
Next post will be coming straight from the Greek Island of Samos!

knits and bows

(knit: thrifted, jeans: dotti, flats: rubi, bag: forever new, necklace: wholesale dress)

Today Scott and I started packing our suitcases for our holiday to Greece & Malta and this is what I wore! Excitement! We also went to our local shopping mall, for some last-minute buys, a car wash and a hair cut. We leave this Friday night, and there is still so much to organise and do before we go.

I still havent had the chance to edit all the photos and video footage from our Christmas in July party..... but its definatley on my to-do list for this week and I will definatley post about it before we leave for our holiday.

The necklace I am wearing I bough recently from this Asian wholesale website which I would not recommend at all! They are called wholesale-dress and sell a variety of different clothing and accessories. This is the second time I've shopped from them and it will also be the last. The first time, I was reasonably happy with the quality of the items I bought, the prices are dirt cheap so I couldn't really complain, they havent fallen appart and I still wear those pieces from time to time (I had bought three dresses). More recently I purchased another few dresses and this necklace.... I waited for what seemed like forever for my items - Long story short, nothing arrived, they said they sent it and it came back so I lost postage money and then replaced the order minus a few items. They were very unprofessional during our communications, lacking basic customer service skills. On a brighter note, the items I did receive fit me perfectly and I love my new bow necklace!

hand-drawn

If you havent stopped by this blog to get a free portrait done - you should definatley have a go. All you need to do is send in a photo with a short description, and then within a few days you'll received a portrait of your photo. The portraits are not done by professional artists - just regular people like you and me. You can even email them to become a "guest artist" and do a portrait for someone else (which is what I did recently - link below).

Back at work this week after two weeks of school holidays. And this week has gone by fast! We leave for Greece next Friday night - can you believe it? I cant. Im excited, but moreso, a little stressed as there is still so much to organise and do before we fly off, to do with both our trip and also work.

Our Christmas in July party was a big success.... I'll be editing the photos and videos we took on the night and posting it all very shortly.

non-stop weekend

(flats: ally, tights: equip, dress: free people, hat: asos, bag: forever new)

Can't believe how fast this week has passed! I wore this outfit on Tuesday when I went to visit my parents for lunch. I'm not 100% sold on it though. I like all the pieces separatley but not sure about them all together as an outfit. This dress is one of my favourites, Ive had it for about 5 years and it still fits me perfectly. I love the pretty floral pattern and the ruffle detail around the neck and down the bust.

I finished listing a few dresses (vintage and current) along with some handbags and shoes on ebay last night, so if you're keen for some retail therapy, click here to view my items. I've got a stack more items to list, but they will have to wait until I get home from vacationing in Europe.

Scott and I have a lot of organising, and preparing to do leading up to our Christmas in July party tomorrow night. We both have our ugly Christmas jumpers ready, and I've started to put out some decorations around the house too, but there is still so much to do!

And our weekend doesnt stop there... mum and dad are leaving for Greece on Sunday so we are taking them to the airport and also dropping off our darling little dog at our friends, Mitchell & Emmas house, and then finishing off with a soccer game and out for dinner with our newly pregnant friends, Jase & Shahde.

Busy, busy, busy. Monday is staff-development-day at work and its also "bring-some-soup-to-share" day. Where on earth am I going to find time to make some soup? Have a splendid weekend dears! x

a new look

So on Sunday I decided to try out a new look = brogues + over-the-knee socks. I find that I used to be quite fashion forward and over the years I have just fallen behind. Posting outfits has definatley got me thinking more about the outfits I put together and wear out, so I feel I am slowly getting back up there. Of course - I must thank you all - all your fabulous blogs which I read pretty much daily, have given me so much inspiration.

So what do we think about brogues and over-the-knee socks? I know brogues have been in fashion for some time now but I find myself a bit slow with certain trends so please excuse me. I dont think its my style really... but I thought, heck .... who cares I'll just have a go. I asked Scott what he thought of the outfit after I got dressed, and his long silence didnt do much for my confidence, but I decided to venture out anyways.

The school holidays are almost over and while I have been quite productive, there is still so much on my to-do list, and it just keeps growing. We leave for Greece in just over two weeks time, and I really wanted to be mostly packed before I go back to work on Monday, but I really dont see that happening. Before I know it, i'll be back at work, planning lessons and organising stuff for my students and I'll find no time at all for organising things for our trip!! Ahhh the stress I have to look forward to!

Our Christmas in July party is this Saturday night and I am oh-so-super-excited! Have you go much planned for this weekend? Hope everyone has a beauiful day xx

date night

Last week was my choice for date-night, so when I found an awesome deal on Spreets I booked it right away! I found a great deal that offered 50% off a three-hour "Christmas in July" cruise dinner. So we only paid $82 for both of us - drinks included (when it would normally had been $82 per person). It was a small cruise so it was very sweet and intimate, adorned with all sorts of fun Christmas decorations. The food was delicious too - roast turkey, pork, and yummy veggies.

The last picture is of my new ring from asos, which I wore on the night. How awesome is it? I had trouble getting a decent photo of it on my hand so I had to take it off for a good photo. I think its just adorable. xx

mother and daughter

(knit: portmans ,undertop: barkins, jeans: lee, shoes: rubi, bag: forever new, watch necklace: gift)

These photos were taken on Monday when mum & I went into the city to run a few errans. This is a bit of a photo-heavy post so I do appologise, but I took a few pics of mum and couldnt resist sneaking them into this post.

I cannot believe its almost the end of the first week of school holidays. While I have been quite pleased with myself in that I have been very productive, I just wish I had more time! There are always so many things that I want to do - and evidently never enough time.

Scott and I are hosting our very first "Christmas in July" party next weekend, so we are super excited about that. The theme is "Ugly Christmas Jumpers", and we can't wait to see what ugly Christmas jumpers our friends come dressed in! I sourced out some jumpers for Scott and I at our local thrift stores recently, and every time I look at them I wonder if their previous owner actually thought they looked decent? Oh well, its all for a good laugh. Have you ever been to a "Christmas in July" party? I can't wait to share it all with you. have a wonderful Friday everyone. xx

soccer sunday

(dress worn as top: sportsgirl, skirt: temt, tights: equip, boots: rubi, scarf: cotton on)

This is proberbly not the most appropriate outfit to watch a game of soccer in but hey.... I thought I looked  pretty good so I wore it anyways! It was again a gorgeous day to lap up the sun while watching the game - I hope the weather keeps it up!

So I am officially on school holidays. I feel relaxed and stressed at the same time. Relaxed because ... well I'm on holidays and I dont have to get up early and go to work and organise lessons for my students, but at the same time a little stressed as I know I will need to sit down at some point and start planning things for work soon. And while two weeks off work sounds like a fair break for most, I find that for a teacher - it really isnt enough.

I have a really busy week up ahead... I've decided its best to plan to do lots of things so as to not waste time and end up doing nothing productive. Today mum and I went into the city and ran a few errans. I bought a brown satchel from Typo to use as a laptop bag but to my dissapointment my laptop is too fat! I dont want to spend a lot of money.... does anyone know where I can go to buy a stylish bag for my laptop without needing to fork out a heap of cash?

I believe I've said enough for now... I'll be updating again shortly... Mum took some really nice outfit pictures for me today on our trip into the city and I'm itching to share them with you. Hope everyone has a wonderful week! x
