Since finishing university and becoming a primary school teacher, I feel that the teaching profession is a lot more demanding than I once thought. Gone are the days where kids wanted to come to school, not just to see their friends but moreso because they enjoyed learning. While the classrooms of yesteryears did not have the technical advances of todays, the kids where far better behaved, spoke proper english and used words that most adults today don't even know the meaning of. What happened? What changed? How do I teach a child who does not want to learn, does not respect authority, and has no concept or understanding of the importance of an education.
