wedding video

After waiting for over 7 months, we finally received our wedding video from our videographer. It was well worth the wait, I think they did an amazing job filming and editing all the footage. We received a highlights version (which you're welcome to watch below) that goes for abour 12 minutes, and a longer version with the entire ceremony, speeches, first dance and more footage from the reception which went for abour 2 hours. Our wedding video is something we will keep forever, to show our kids and grandkids, and watch over and over as time goes on - a reminder of the love we share for one another and that special day where we proclaimed that love in front of all our close friends and family.

wedding bouquets

When I started to do a bit of research for wedding bouquets, I was totally blown away by how expensive they were. I called many different florists, but they were all quoting me ridiculous prices. For three bouquets (mine, my maid of honours and my flowergirls), it would have cost me around the $1000. Definatley not something I was prepared to pay! So.... I decided to make them myself. I googled "DIY bouquet" and found tons of easy-to-follow step by step instructions on constructing a wedding bouquet. I bought the flowers (white roses) from a friend whose dad grows flowers on his property at cost price, and all the flowers ended up costsing me less than the price of one small bouquet from the florist. The night before our wedding, my maid of honour came round and we sat in front of the telly making the bouquets. They wern't perfect, but seriously - who inspects the flowers anyways. Overall, I think they turned out well, and I am so happy we chose to make them ourselves. We decorated the bouquets with dusty millar (foliage) and creamy white feathers.

the ceremony

Our wedding ceremony took place at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on the 21st of August 2010. It went by so quick... I remember driving to the church with dad one minute, then the next I'm walking out of the church with my husband beside my side, everyone is cheering, showering us with bubbles and rice as we walk down the stairs outside of the church. It flew by in a flash, but I'm so happy we have our wedding photos to look back over and enjoy it all over again! Here is a small collection of
photos from our wedding ceremony, enjoy xx.

they make my heart melt

I can't believe its been almost 5 months since we got married and I still havent gotten around the posting all about our special day. I promise to get everything posted by the time we hit the 6 month mark, so for the next 6 weeks or so.... I'll be posting a fair bit about our wedding (hope it doesn't get too boring for you all).

This post is about my darling little flower girl Jorgia, and page boy, Dean. They are my first cousins kids, and arnt they just the cutest! They did a great job on the day, I was so proud of them!

Dean was almost 2 and a half and Jorgia almost 4 years old. Since our wedding, my cousin has given birth to a gorgeous baby boy. He is about 2 months old, and just as cute as his older brother & sister.

( please excuse all the finger-prints on the mirror - I can't believe we missed that! )

the groom

I'd like to formaly introduce you to my darling husband, Scott. Here are a couple of pics, taken on the morning of our wedding at my in-laws home with his twin brother, and best man, Chris. Scott is truly an amazing man, and I am thankful everyday for ever having met him. He has the kindest heart, the most beautiful smile and the cutest laugh. He is my world, my life, my love.

the wedding dress

We recently received all our wedding photos back from our lovely photographers, Evan & Julliette (CreatePhotography)... so over the next few posts I'd like to share with you, the most wonderful day of my life, my wedding day.

Initially I wanted to have a strapless wedding dress, but after a few chats with Scott and a few friends I decided to go with straps. I didn't want to be pulling my dress up the whole day and wanted something a little bit different. Almost 100% of the wedding dresses around at the moment are strapless so I thought the straps would add a nice & different touch.

It was bought from the Bridal Factory at Wetheril Park (which I have recently heard has closed down!), for $2020. I went with mum in January and tried on a few different styles, and then we picked and choose different things from each of the dresses I had tried on to come up with a design I was happy with. The bust area was fitted with a big satin bow on the side of the waist. Then from the waist down there are layers of lace with crystal detailing. There was also crystal detailing around the sweetheart bustline and on the strap edges. I loved it to pieces - its totally me 100%.
